OPEN SPACE COMMISSION
MEETING MINUTES
Friday, February 14, 2014
• Call to Order/Welcome
Chairperson, Diana Atwood Johnson called the meeting to order at 10:30am.
Members Attending: Diana Atwood Johnson, Amanda Blair, Bruce Baratz (Alternate), Peter Cable, William Dunbar, Ted Kiritsis and Mary Stone (Alternate)
Absent: Evan Griswold, George James and Kurt Zemba (Alternate)
Guest: Julie Campbell, Acting Secretary
The meeting began with D. Atwood Johnson introducing Mary Stone (Alternate) to the commission members. Mary presented posters for the upcoming seminar with Amy Paterson. Peter gave a brief overview of the seminar and it was suggested that information regarding seminar be send to all commission in the town of Old Lyme.
• Election of Officers
Peter Cable nominated Diana Atwood Johnson as Chairperson, with Amanda Blair as Vice Chairperson this was seconded by Ted Kiritsis who then nominated Peter Cable as Secretary which was then seconded by William Dunbar. Motions carried unanimously.
• Approval of Minutes of December 13, 2013
Ted Kiritsis moved to approve the minutes; motion was seconded by William Dunbar.
• Open Space Land Steward
A discussion took place on the possibility of locating someone for this position. Job description was distributed and many thought it may be difficult to locate someone at this time. No action taken.
• New Business
Diana Atwood Johnson reminded us about our co-sponsoring of the OLLT National Trails Day Walk on June 7.
At 11:35am our regular meeting took a brief break for an executive session until 11:45a.m..
Meeting was adjourned at 11:55a.m.
